The seafreight market ex Asia continues to
be very hot. Due to the limited tonnage,
vessels are overbooked there is a risk that
containers are being rolled at loading- and
transit ports. All carriers have announced
and implemented Peak Season Surcharge.
3 I SEAFREIGHT
China incl. HKG
China – Space is very tight, most vessels are
overbooked.
India
Increasing volumes and space problems.
Bangladesh
Chittagong – Space is tight and some
carriers report container crisis for 40’DV +
HC.
Sri Lanka
CMB – Space is tight.
Indonesia
JKT – Problems can occur in t/s ports due to
overbooked vessels.
Mauritius
No problems so far.
Myanmar
Yangon – The weather situation has
improved. Bookings should be placed at
least one week ahead due to peak season
and increasing volumes.
Vietnam
Space is tight and problems can occur in t/s
ports.
4 I AIRFREIGHT
South China (HKG etc.)
HKG – Space is available.
East and North China (SHA, Beijing, etc.)
SHA – The market is still hot, waiting time of
1- 2 days needs to be calculated for uplifts.
India
No problems so far.
Bangladesh
DAC – Volumes are increasing day by day,
so space problems may occur. Local off-line
carriers are not accepting shipments this
week due to uplift of perishables.
Sri Lanka
CMB – Space is tight due to limited flight
capacities and increasing volumes ex China.
Indonesia
JKT – Space is tight and bookings need to
be placed one week prior to planned uplift.
Mauritius
No problems.
Myanmar
Space is available.
Turkey
IST – No problems.
Vietnam
No problems
